Kendra Scott's story

Kendra Scott’s brand may be worth over $1 billion today, but her company had very humble beginnings. Interestingly enough, her first company specialized in comfortable hats for women undergoing chemotherapy treatments, a business she was inspired to create after watching her step-father endure brain cancer. She then moved on to the company for which she is most famous – unique, stylish jewelry. With only $500 and a spare bedroom of her home, she designed her first collection shortly after her first child was born.

With determination and her jewelry pieces in hand, she visited shop after shop in the Austin area. In order to have enough money to fill the orders she had received that day she had to sell all of the samples she had with her. This type of tenacity served her well. In just a few short years her jewelry was being seen in fashion runway shows and several more years down the road found her jewelry in its very own retail store. Today with nearly 100 stores and a thriving e-commerce business as well as other well-known retailers and boutiques selling her line, Kendra Scott is making her mark in the world of entrepreneurs and fashion designers.
